A Travelshore representative will meet you and provide  you  with a bus transfer from the airport to your accommodation in Punta Rucia, where you can relax and unwind. Upon arrival we will assist you with check-in and will provide you with the room keys. Details of the tour will be highlighted before dinner. In the meantime enjoy premises’ surroundings while discovering the features of the village. Enjoy an authentic Dominican lunch prepared by the owner and assistant. Shortly after lunch we will visit the village and the most calming, relaxing and recharging beach that you’ll ever been to and remember to meet with your Travelshore guide in the restaurant by 5:30pm to review and guide you through the itinerary and tips.

Don’t miss Cayo Arena, also known as Paradise Island, just off the amber coast in Puerto Plata, it has unique coral reef and is excellent for snorkeling. Along the way your tour guide will provide explanations about Dominican culture and their way of living. Our guides will take you through typical Dominican villages, colorful houses and different varieties of palm trees. a local and friendly guide will take us on a short boat ride equipped with your favorite beverage and snacks to enjoy pure natural cay surrounded by white sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, red rock formations and a circled coral reef in the middle of the sea and submerge few meters to experience the extraordinary marine life that exist surrounding this key, also known as paradise island.

On the way back we’ll visit the National Park of Montecristi with its lush green mangroves, lagoons, a lot of wildlife and birds. Learn about the flora and fauna of the area. Then enjoy a tasty lunch at a beachfront restaurant in Punta Rusia, a small untouched fishermen village. Have a swim, walk on the beach, discover the surroundings or simply relax in the sun with your favorite drink and Latin music. 

Early breakfast is served in Punta Rucia before heading to Tubagua Ecolodge, located in the dramatic Cordilleras Septentrional Mountain Range, surrounded by pure nature and yet conveniently close to the Amber Coast. Tubagua is the perfect getaway to tranquility after remaining days of full adventures. Today we’ll tour the city of Puerto Plata, where we will visit some heritage sites, colourful vintage houses, Victorian design architecture, amber museum, among other popular and historic site sites. Lunch will be served at Laura’s Restaurant, a typical Dominican kitchen known for its prompt service and delicious and authentic menu.

After a tasty Dominican-style breakfast our Travelshore host will pick you at the main lobby of your accommodation to enjoy an adventurous hike to  the top of the 27 natural waterfalls where you can hike, swim, jump, slide down the flowing natural waters. Your local specialist will explain all the natural tropical wonders and beauty of the rainforest. (This hike requires some physical) and after you had your rush of excitement we will visit a traditional restaurant where you can fill your hungry tummy with criolla Dominican style buffet. 

On the way we will make couple of stops to get some snacks from the local vendors just off the highway, followed by a brief learning experience at a organic fruit and cacao plantation, where you will learn about the process of making chocolate, where besides sipping a cup of traditional hot chocolate or organic coffee, you will taste the best tropical local flavours . Lunch will be served at Grande beach where you will get the chance to stretch, relax, enjoy the clear blue water of the Atlantic Ocean prior to having a typical lunch at the beach. In the afternoon we will start heading back to Puerto Plata, but not until we’ll do a simple break at a hidden gem tucked away in the Caribbean forests, The Dudu Lagoon National Park, for some refreshments and to cool off from the heat and relax in natural pool and Zip-dive off a cliff to the clear waters, take a walk through the deep curvy caves and take a photo with a large friendly Ostrich! Back at Tubagua you are more than welcome to join us for dinner and mingle because we love to hear about your experience and your comments.

This water sport Mecca was at first was a huge windsurfing destination and now world’s best kiteboarding destination. You will quickly feel the vibe and the energy of the people and learn from local life, mingle with the locals while looking for gifts ideas, visiting the grocery store for snacks, Relax at the beach, play volleyball. Bring your bathing suit to take refreshing dip in the waive waters, feel the soft sand on your toes with a cold drink in your hands at one of the colourful and bright restaurants.

Free time at Tubagua Ecolodge to embrace the tranquility of the premises, go for a short walk or if you have an inquiry or need assistance in getting a particular last minute gift, we will do our best to take you there before getting ready to Transfer you to the airport.
