BEYOND THE RESORT IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC with EMILE SANCHEZ, FOUNDER OF TRAVELSHORE

Born and raised in Dominican Republic, Emile Sanchez studied Travel and Tourism in Vancouver, Canada and became a Tour Operator. While growing up in the DR he was fascinated by the many tourists, while watching his Dad work in couple beach resorts. Emile grew a passion for travel and meeting friendly people from around the world.

Living in Canada, he brought some of his Latin vibe to people through music and dance, teaching Dominican Bachata and Merengue for 10 years! Now he enjoys bringing people to his country to experience the true Dominican culture! Not only does he want to share with people this Caribbean paradise, he would like them to see beyond the resorts and beautiful beaches. There are several hidden magical places located on the Island, that are full of natural beauty and wonder to see and explore! Such as: Mountains ranges, natural parks, rivers, salt-lakes, valleys, exotic plants and wildlife! This place offers outdoor adventure and relaxation beyond your imagination, in a heavenly paradise of white sand, green tropical forests and clear waters!

While living in Canada, Emile was often asked,” Why don’t you live in Dominican Republic?”. This also has inspired him to promote ecotourism and travel to this spectacular Island! With laugher and music on every humble street corner, these happy people welcome others with loads of kindness! Emile also loves a variety of tasty Dominican dishes with flavors from Africa, Spain, middle East and The Caribbean’s Natives; known as Tainos!

Emile’s vision is to inspire the world to visit these magical hidden places and experience what more Dominican Republic has to offer! His company, TravelShore has friendly Tour escorts that are ready to serve in both Spanish and English! Emile loves his Dominican people and would want nothing more than to see them in a more sustainable and improved living condition, in which they can develop through conserving the environment! He would like to provide a positive “togetherness” with local people and tourist attractions. This would help local communities to grow financially and economically. With more education to the local communities and promoting Tourism to the Dominican Republic, Emile hopes to empowered locals to develop themselves professionally and to work together along with visitors who wish to serve.

In 2013, Emile married his Canadian wife, Cristy in Punta Cana, which is a very famous resort town in Dominican Republic, with about 18 family members in attendance. Him and his wife enjoyed the resort, sitting on the beach, relaxing in the tropical heat, playing with the waves and eating at an all-inclusive buffet. We spent one week on the resort and two weeks with the locals visiting other tourist destinations. His wife was fascinated with some of the natural parks and resources and with how happy and humble the Dominican people are. She is now a big supporter in Emile’s vision to promote ecotourism which can really help the people in a more sustainable living. They now have a 8 month old son who is now a part of the TravelShore family! They love the Dominican Republic!
